Carlos Baleba Completes £70m Transfer to Man United

Manchester United have secured the signature of Carlos Baleba from Brighton in a deal rising to £70 million.

The 22-year-old Cameroon international signed a five-year contract, featuring an optional extra year, for a guaranteed £65 million fee plus £5 million in potential add-ons.

Baleba becomes United’s third midfield reinforcement of the summer alongside Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, completing a major engine-room rebuild under head coach Michael Carrick.

Despite a temporary setback with a pre-season ankle ligament injury that postpones his debut, his arrival brings vital physical presence, ground coverage, and ball-carrying dynamism.

The player expressed immense enthusiasm regarding his switch to Old Trafford, highlighting the manager’s influence on his decision. “I cannot wait to work with Michael Carrick. His experience and knowledge of the game make him the perfect coach to help me to reach the highest level,” Baleba stated.
